Application of Pearl Pigments in Coatings

◆　Pearl Pigments are applicable to various coating systems like solvent based coating, water based coating, UV curable powder coating etc. It has been widely used in automotive coating, building coating, wood coating for furniture and decoration, plastic coating as well as surface coatings of daily necessities, leather, leatheroid, packaging and containers, textile and so on. The coated surface has a rich gradation and a superexcellent decoration effect.

◆　Interference series coatings are applied to decoration of interior walls of architectures. Fantasy patterns are produced according to different theories: like adding surface active agent; utilizing the different volatilization rate of the solvents; using different polarities of solvent based coatings and water based coatings to generate patterns, and to create a fantasy and changeable decorating effect.

 

Notices on Application of Pearl Pigments in Coatings

◆　Pearl Pigments should be used together with transparent dyes and pigments, or its pearl gloss will be reduced.

◆　Avoid a long time blending with large shearing force.

◆　Avoid mixed use of pearl pigments of fantasy series in complementary colors.

◆　Particles of pearl pigments will deposit when the coating is in low viscosity. So remix the coating before using.

 

Application of Pearl Pigments in Plastics

◆　Applicable to various plastic processing techniques including injection molding, blow molding, suction molding, color masterbatch and so on. It is used in producing cosmetic vessels, membrane, food containers, daily necessities, buttons, toys, sandals, electronic facilities, plastic decorations as well as other products.

◆　It is applicable to various transparent or semi-transparent plastic resins. During processing, there will be no color migration, release, melting down, thus exhibiting attractive pearlescent metallic luster.

◆　Plastic resin shall have comparatively high transparency; avoid adding opaque stuff.

◆　It is preferred to mix with pigment of high transparency when matching colors. When a small amount of opaque pigment is needed, the dosage of pearl pigment shall be increased accordingly.  

◆　Try best to avoid a long time use of fast dispersion machine during the blending and processing of pearl pigments.

 

Application of Pearl Pigments in Printing Ink

◆　It is applicable to printing inks in many kinds of printing systems like intaglio printing, relief printing, screen printing, flexographic printing, coated printing and so on, and also used in printing of packing paperboard, tipping paper, plastic film, decorative paper, alabaster paper as well as other products.
